ABOUT ME

 Where it started for me

From a young age, I was a reliable conversational partner for people, naming what did not come up naturally. From those experiences grew my fascination with psychology: a field full of possibilities for awareness, growth, and change—both for my clients and for myself.

 My professional background

I began my career in 2000 as an agogist within families where illness or a disability profoundly affected the parental role. Subsequently, I specialized in systemic treatments within top-clinical mental healthcare, with a focus on adolescents and young adults.

My specializations include:

  • Autism
  • Genderdysforie
  • (Exceptional) giftedness
  • Sexuality

At the same time, I worked as a liaison officer for North Holland and West Friesland based on these specializations.

To be able to apply my provocative, activating approach widely, I have started my own practice for provocative psychological treatment. In doing so, I collaborate with various knowledge and care centers, advocacy organizations, and specialized practices.

 Other professional activities

Between 2014 and 2020, I worked within the social domain as a treatment specialist, treatment coordinator, and supervisor for a large municipality in West-Friesland, responsible for youth care in 17 sub-municipalities. I was also involved in projects focused on diversity, culture, and inclusivity.

In addition, as a mental health specialist, supervisor, and treatment coordinator, I guide other professionals in the field.

 Recognition and awards

My work has been internationally recognized multiple times. Among other things, I was awarded:

  •  Healthcare & Pharmaceutical Awards (GHP, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2023)

for my contribution to the treatment of psychological and psychiatric issues and the promotion of self-expression and self-esteem, with special attention to minorities.

  •  Benelux Enterprise Award (2021)

for my dedication and impact within health psychology.

I see these awards as a confirmation of my commitment not only to treat, but also to create space for who people truly are – beyond the norm, beyond the stigma.

 Expertise based on experience

My involvement is not only professional but also personal. I know from experience how profound themes such as identity, neurodiversity, and self-expression can be.

Do not hesitate to ask questions about that if it is significant to you.

 What drives me today

I continue to deepen my knowledge through courses, seminars, workshops, and training. In addition, I regularly give lectures and workshops myself to institutions and organizations.

My practice continues to evolve, but my basic principle remains unchanged: supporting people in rediscovering their own strength, free from imposed expectations.

If you are willing to look at yourself beyond old stories and imposed boundaries, I would love to meet you!
