No compensation?
Specialized treatment at an independent practice is not reimbursed by health insurers. This is a conscious choice with benefits: there is no waiting list, no referral letter is required, and no file is built up anywhere—neither with a general practitioner nor a health insurer. Furthermore, I work person-centered, not product-oriented. This means that from the very first consultation, no fixed number of sessions is assigned to your complaints; instead, at each appointment, we re-evaluate where we stand and where you want to go. As a result, my clients are helped much more effectively and faster in almost all cases.
What does self-employed mean?
I work as an independent psychologist in the private sector. My practice focuses on the psychological treatment of individuals and (where beneficial) their immediate environment. Being self-employed means that I work independently from my own practice—in this case, at home. I am not affiliated with a municipality, institution, or health insurer. The advantage is that you always deal with me as your practitioner, and the care is fully tailored to you and in consultation with you.
