Therapy via a screen? Does that really work?

Yes! I can well imagine that you have doubts about it, but online therapy can be just as effective as when we are in the same room: a meta-analysis combining the results of 56 studies with a total of 100,000 clients showed that online therapy was just as effective as traditional forms of conversation for virtually all mental disorders.


For an independent practice with specializations, it is not a given that it is located near you — the fact that I live on the other side of the country or you are abroad makes no difference with online therapy. Moreover, it is more flexible, there is no travel time, a video call is easier to schedule alongside work, and the threshold for asking for online help is lower.
