COVID-19BEHAVIORAL THERAPY

Even during the coronavirus outbreak, treatments continue as much as possible: face-to-face, digitally, or a combination of both.

If you have an appointment soon, I ask you to take the following into account:

  • Do you have health symptoms such as a runny nose, cough, sore throat, or fever? Please contact us via text message; we will then convert your appointment to a video or phone appointment.
  • If you are over 70, we will convert the appointment to a video or phone appointment.
  • Do you have a vulnerable health condition? In that case, too, we will convert the appointment into a video or telephone appointment.
  • Have you been in a risk area and are you experiencing health complaints? If so, please contact your GP and contact me via text message. Under no circumstances should you come to my practice.
  • If you have been in contact in the past few days with someone being tested for the coronavirus, do not come to the practice until the test result is negative.
  • Visits to my practice are limited to no more than two people.
  • Use the toilet at home before visiting my practice.
  • I will no longer shake your hand when you visit.
  • I try to keep the doors of my practice open as soon as there are no more visitors. So please check when you arrive if the door is already open. If not: knock. If so: you can proceed directly to my treatment room – I will then close the door.

I follow the advice of the RIVM, the professional associations Dutch Institute of Psychologists (NIP), and the EFPA (European Federation of Psychologists' Associations) on a daily basis. They advise me to keep my practice open as much as possible.

I make a well-considered assessment for each patient as to whether or not to opt for face-to-face treatment or alternatives. This advice has been coordinated with the Ministry of Health, Welfare and Sport (VWS), which has indicated that it is pleased that I am trying to maintain the continuity of care in this way.

Amidst all the uncertainty and lack of clarity, I am glad that I can try to maintain the continuity of mental health care in this safe manner.
